Carbon steel blade body, and is made to the same tolerances and specs of our cutting swords. Carbon steel swords have the advantage of more lifelike practice than standard aluminum alloy blades that cost at least twice as much! Carbon steel iaito gives the feel of holding a real sword, with accurate weight and balance.
Iaito blades are non-sharpened for safety in practice, but can be sharpened and used for light cutting in the future. The iaito is finished with a twirling leaf tsuba motif that is clean and elegant. Black fuchi and kashira finish out the trim.
Brass habaki is used, and is of work-hardened full wrap construction. Glossy black laquered saya, with horn capped koiguchi. Black cotton ito wrap on genuine saya on wood core. All iaitos come with bohi standard, to assist with training of proper swing and hasuji.
